Mathematical theory of Elasticity (non-linear and linear); Continuum mechanics (non-linear and linear); Mathematical modelling of smart materials; Acoustoelasticty; Electroelasticity; Magnetoelasticity; Mechanics of Composite Materials; Mechanics of fibre-reinforced materials; Incremental Elastic Deformations; Stability and Bifurcation analysis for special problems in Elasticity, Electroelasticity and Magnetoelasticity; Magneto- and Electroelastic waves in finitely deformed magneto- and electroactive materials; Biomechanics and mechanical modelling of soft biological tissues; Elastodynamics, various problems in Seismology and Geophysics: wave propagation in prestressed media and other problems; acoustoelastic effect
Dr Andrey Melnikov joined Nazarbayev University in 2022 as an Assistant Professor. Prior to that position, Dr A. Melnikov was a postdoctoral research fellow at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador in Canada (2017 – 2022).
