Research Interest
Advanced functional materials and devices, optoelectronics, flexible electronics, micro- and nano-fabrication
Askhat joined Physics Department of the School of Science and Technology at Nazarbayev University in August 2018 as an Assistant Professor. He received his undergraduate degree in physics from al-Farabi Kazakh national University (Almaty, Kazakhstan), and master’s degree in nanomaterials from Imperial College London (London, UK) in 2010. In 2014 Askhat received his PhD degree in physical chemistry from Ludwig Maximillian University of Munich (Munich, Germany). Before joining Nazarbayev University, Askhat was a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Munich and then at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) in Melbourne, Australia.
Askhat’s research interests are in the area of semiconductors and devices, optoelectronics and photovoltaics, micro- and nano-fabrication, functional nanomaterials and nanotechnology.
