Kazakhstan’s foreign policy, Central Asian regionalism, nation branding in international relations
Elmira Joldybayeva is a Postdoctoral Scholar at the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Nazarbayev University. Elmira completed her PhD in Politics and International Studies at the University of Warwick, which she attended on the Bolashak Presidential Scholarship. After graduation, she held an early career fellowship at Warwick’s Institute of Advanced Studies.
Before joining the Department, Elmira was an Associate Professor at the Institute of Diplomacy and the Lead Researcher for the Erasmus+ Programme at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Her research interests include Kazakhstan’s foreign policy, Central Asian regionalism, and the question of nation branding in international relations.
