In July 2022, NU SSH Associate Professor of the Department of Political Science and International Relations Caress Schenk shared her article in the newsletter of the Association for Slavic, East European and Eurasian Studies. They are doing a series of articles on what it means to decolonize Eurasian studies, and Associate Professor Schenk’s contribution focuses on how “double” decolonization occurs in Central Asia, both away from the legacy of Russian imperialism and the Soviet Union, and away from Western-central theories and production knowledge that drown out the voices of Central Asia.
