Associate Professor Caress Schenk has been awarded an NCEEER (National Council for Eurasian and East European Research) grant through their National Research Competition that supports our data collection for the CoronaNet project. The funding allows focusing resources on gathering data on Eurasian government responses to COVID-19 including intensive data collection across all of Russia’s subnational regions. The COVID-19 crisis demonstrates in real-time how decision-making evolves at the local and national levels.

The CoronaNet Research Project collects data on government response to the pandemic worldwide. As a co-PI of CoronaNet, I am leading a team to collect data on Eurasia, in order to maximize the comparative value of our dataset, says Professor Schenk.
