The first invited guest was Alima Bisenova, an assistant professor of sociology and anthropology at the School of Sciences and Humanities.

In a short lecture course “Ethnography of the Kazakh steppe of the colonial period” Alima Bisenova examines the key works of three ethnographers – Alexei Levshin (1798–1879), Chokan Valikhanov (1835–1865) and Georgy Gins (1887–1971), who worked at different times during this period.
