Лили Чжан является преподавателем китайского языка в Назарбаев Университете с 2019 года. Она получила вторую степень магистра по специальности «Обучение второго языка» в Университете штата Мэриленд, Колледж-Парк, и свою первую степень магистра по «Китайской лингвистике и прикладной лингвистике» в Пекинском университете языка и культуры.
Она преподавала китайский язык в Университете Дрейка и Университете Мэриленда, Колледж Парк. До своего обучения в США она работала инструктором по китайскому языку в Китайском молодежном университете политических наук.
