Его исследовательские интересы включают математическую логику, теорию вычислимости, теорию множеств, алгебру и теорию операторов.
Доктор Манат Мустафа получил степень кандидата наук по математике в Казахском национальном университете им. Аль-Фараби в 2012 году в Алматы. В настоящее время он является ассистент-профессором кафедры математики в Назарбаев университете. До прихода в Назарбаев университет он работал в Школе физики и математики в Наньянгском технологическом университете в Сингапуре в качестве научного сотрудника. В 2003-2009 году он работал учителем математики в Республиканской специализированной физико-математической средней школе-интернате для одаренных детей имени О.Жаутыкова в Алматы.
